Here's David's first letter from the MTC. He sounds like he's doing awesome! It's so wonderful to get these. If you want to write to him, you can go to DearElder.com and they'll print them out and send them for free while he's in the MTC. If you want to use it after he leaves the MTC, it just costs the same as a regular stamp. He would love to hear from everyone. Until the evening of February 15th, use the MTC address. After that, use the mission home address.

Hey, you know the cartoons of people slipping, falling down, and just throwing stuff everywhere? Yeah that's me on the way over to do laundry today. It stung for a while, but I'm just fine. It was way funny actually.
So the first week wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, but it was still challenging and very tiring. I've gone to bed every night and just hit the pillow so hard. It is so spiritually draining. On the second day, our schedule was a little messed up so we ended up studying from 8 till about 4 in the afternoon. We were all so drained after that.
My companion's name is Elder Lightfoot. He's 5'5, and wrestled 126's for varsity at Murray High School. He is such a stud. All of the people in my district have the same personalities, and we have a blast together, but we still are able to get things done. We've been able to turn almost anything we talk about into a super deep and spiritual conversation, but also have fun with it. We have gotten off track a couple times, but we always get back on track within a max of 10 minutes.
I love you all and I want you to know that I love you. If you want to, you can go to DearElder.com and send the emails there. They transcribe everything, and I'll get it in a letter the next day instead of waiting until P-Day.
We use Preach My Gospel so much.
Hey, make sure you read in Chapter 10 about making commitments for Bro Tamang's class. It'll help so much with committing people. Just remember that if it ever seems tedious to go to class, you will be doing that same thing everyday at the MTC and you'll be so much better off and avoid so much stress that so many Elders and Sisters are having with teaching. Teach with love, and try to have them feel that love, and you'll be able to touch any heart.
Can you guys send me my futsol shoes, and a proclamation to the world about the size of my scriptures to carry around, and a bit more of the laundry sheets. The elders in my room don't have any detergent, and I don't have enough for the rest of the time at the MTC. The food is great, and the days go by so fast, yet so slow at the same time.
I love you so much,
Elder Peterson
